The Long Awaited Quilt

I finally finished it!  Erin gave me a date to work towards which is what I need to actually finish something apparently.  She wanted to use it in their photo session this weekend with T.Wilson Photography.  Of course that still means I was stitching those last few stitches friday afternoon out by the pool.  I know who needs a quilt when it's 90 degrees, but hey it was fun.  (Thanks Amanda for holding Miss Sophie so I could finish those last few inches!)  I'm borrowing Erin and Tammy's photos because I didn't even snap a photo of it before passing it on.
This cuteness totally makes all those hours worth it!!!
Here they all are on it:
Only for you Erin Marie, only for you.
Okay and since the rest of you read this for my little cuties, you'll have to head over to picasa to check out pics of them.  I didn't even plug my camera in for a few weeks so I have picture overload.  These photos are actually from around Easter.  The more recent ones are still on the camera and will have to wait a little bit longer.
Kinley is trying to give up her nap.  She had her last day of school last week and Sophie is still waking up once in the middle of the night.  So I'm pretty fried.  Kinley starts swim lessons this week for two weeks and then goes to Vacation Bible School the next week, so I'm sure I will have lots to update you on soon.

Sophie's First Mama-Made

I finally sewed something for Miss Sophie.  An Easter dress to match the one I started for Kinley last year.  I used a free pattern on Made by Rae called The Itty Bitty Baby Dress.
Here's the best modeling shot of the girlies in their dresses:
Sophie smiling!!! (Kinley talking, no surprise there):
Kinley smiling (Sophie with her tongue stuck out, no surprise there):
I gave up on together shots:
It would also help if I improved my photography skills and didn't cut off appendages.
And just to make everyone realize just how quickly a year passes, here's Miss Kin in the exact same dress last year:
I swear she's at least 3-4 inches taller.

Stylin'

She sure has her own sense of style:
 Flash Dance, anyone?
At least that's what Andy said.  My vote was for He-man.  I'm not sure why, something about the low pony tail and sweatband/headband.  (Which after a google search, I'm totally wrong.  He-Man had neither.  HA!)
Yep, some tights and legwarmers are all she needs to go with her "dance".
Whatever, she's cute however she's dressed.  So's Mr. Porter.  Although he doesn't seem too impressed with Kinley here.
Erin brought up a good point, she's not sure how Kinley's going to deal with sharing Uncle Chris when Porter and Sophie are big enough to play too.

I Sewed!!!

Baby stuff with my baby but not for my baby.  Here we are:
I am participating in another sewing swap on a forum I belong to, and of course I waited until the last minute to make anything.  I've spent the last 2 days sewing in my free time.  Sophie "helped" me sew yesterday in her new carrier.  Today she was content to sit in her bouncy seat and watch.  It felt really good to be back at my machines, so hopefully you'll see more finished projects soon.
Here are the things I sent in for the Swap:

P.S. Nicole, see you could have cute, personalized clothing and accessories for your little one...just sayin'!

Tease

Erin kindly offered to try and photograph our kiddos today while she had the day off.  I wanted to keep them under wraps until I get a birth announcement together for Sophie.  But...I can't quit looking at them.
So for you today, here's an outtake.  3 year olds and 6 week olds do not make for easy photographing.  This particular set up failed miserably, but not before Sophie managed to spot Kinley's bow, reach for it, get a hold of it, and rip it out.  At least Kinley was laughing about it.  I'm not sure if that means she hates bows or wants one for herself...
But besides this one, you'll just have to wait a little while longer.

Sweet Sisters

Okay, enough already.  Get out of my bed, so I can sleep!
It's a good thing Kinley's such a light weight because she's trying out each and every baby apparatus in the house.
Umm...yeah, please ignore the redneck duck tape on Sophie's mobile.  That thing is loud!!!  We had to come up with something to quiet it down.  Duck tape over the speaker.  That stuffs good for everything.

Good Morning, Sunshines!!!

What a beautiful way to start the day.
