Hot Dog! Sophie is 2!

 She celebrated Mickey Mouse style.
We started out on the Tumblebus.
It took some warming up, but most of the kiddos enjoyed it.
I might have gone overboard with the Mouse Ears...I'll have to make another separate post for all of them.  It was totally worth it because Sophie LOVED it!
Especially the cupcakes.  She asked for one first thing again this morning.
And all her new toys.
Here she is telling everyone thank you before digging in and playing with all her new stuff.
And thanks to most everyone for participating in my photo op.  ;)
Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!  We love you very much.

Party Planning

It all started with this:
and this.  Best. Gift. Ever.  Seriously Andy totally spoils and enables my crafty/sewing supply purchasing problem.  I started working little bits at a time right after Christmas.  After nearly knocking myself out preparing for Sophie's first birthday, I wanted to be sure I had all the necessities completed well in advance.  It was the opposite of my usual procrastination, and Sophie loved seeking peeks of the Mickey stuff as it came hot off the presses over the last several weeks.  Side note: I can't take any credit for the actual creative ideas behind any of this stuff.  I totally stink at thinking up creative things but love putting them all together.
Invitations:
Excuse the bed head.  I told you she enjoyed them hot off the presses.  ;)
The outfit.  Sideways.  Sorry.
Ears:
That was it.  Those were my must haves.  Once they were complete the rest was just extra fun stuff.
As close as this girl gets to confetti.
We had a hot dog bar.
Polka dot and Oreo Mickey cupcakes
Andy made the wreath for me.

I lost the 2!  Maybe I was subconsciously denying that she is that old.

Aunt Gin and Uncle Toy brought the giant Mickey Balloon!  Merritt handmade his ninjago wrapping paper and card.  Love him.  :)
A bucket full of ears.
Every time Sophie passes this sign she says "MY Mickey!"  I think she'll be a little sad when it all comes down.

Our corn hole board got a makeover.

Tumblebus

We were very lucky to have won a Tumblebus Birthday Party through a drawing at the girls' school.  We figured when better to use it than Sophie's birthday.

Christmas Crafts

I got the whole family involved in my crafting craziness this year.
Andy helped (practically made all by himself) these bows, arrows, and targets for the kiddos.  They might figure out how to use them by next Christmas.
Until then the grown ups can enjoy them.

Except for Camy.  She might figure it out first.  She was already working on her aim.

A little more kid appropriate craft.

Another one that required Andy's tools.  Last name signs for my sisters.

A quilt top out of Judy's tennis t-shirts.
And a few lego tables.  This is the only photo I have of ours.  It is quite often used for fort building and nap taking as well as it's intended purpose.

Here's how Sophie prefers to participate.

Instagram

Instagram killed my blog...
Sorry to those folks without Instagram.  Primarily Uncle Stacy and Granny.  Here's one for you especially.

I've got 222 photos over there.  I'll try and work backwards to get them here.  We'll start with Kinley.  She's growing up too fast.  I kind of convince myself she isn't until I look at pictures of her.
Looking very much like her Aunt Ginny

Home sick from school yesterday and crafting with her mama.  She declared it the best day ever.  Might not have been the best direction for future school sick days...She did however keep asking is it almost lunch time yet?  Which was when we needed to go get Sophie from school.  Sophie definitely misses Kinley on the days she is away at school, so it was sweet that Kinley was missing her too.

Andy gave me a Silhouette machine for Christmas.  It has been so much fun to play with.  Kinley agrees.  She helped make these Valentine treat boxes and a new unicorn shirt.  Pretty soon she'll have one for each day of the week.
