Good Luck Keeping Up With This Kiddo!

Thanks for following us over to the new page, and sorry to be so behind.  We've had 60 degree days, more snow, more 60 degree days and snow again since my last update.  I'm so behind on the times, but here's a video from the first day after the real snow we got a couple of weeks ago.
Here's some serious cuteness to make up for it:
Kinley Making Some Music!I must give Kate a heart felt thanks for the Christmas gift of the harmonica and the books.  Kin LOVES playing this thing in the car which I originally thought:  Oh great another noisy toy, but it is much better than whining and crying in the car.  We get quite a kick out of all her "music" these days.  I also love the booty shaking she's trying to do while playing.  Kate must also know a good book when she sees one because pig, moose or mouse are just about the only books in her rotation right now.  Occasionally horses and snuggle puppy edge their way in there too.  Again, books that were gifts.  Thanks to everyone who is keeping my kid well read!  I'll try to be back while Miss Kin naps to catch up on a few other things.

Snow!

We had about 4 inches of snow at our house on Friday. It was definitely the best snowfall we've seen in a long time. Too bad it didn't stick around longer. You can check out more photos here.
Kinley loved the snow. We went out as soon as it started, and she just couldn't stop laughing at it. After nap time we headed back out and the ground was frozen already, so of course she fell immediately. She was not keen on walking or playing in the snow afterwards. She still wanted to play with it but not in it. Crazy girl!

She did love throwing snow balls.

The Greatest Back Pack Ever!!!

Okay so Heather freaking rocks! I told her I was debating between buying a pattern to make Kinley a bag for school or just caving and ordering her one from Pottery Barn Kids. Then Kinley went to school after Christmas and the other Kynlee had the back pack from Pottery Barn I was going to order, so no more Pottery Barn as an option. Here's what Heather came up with:
Front view a:
It has a front pocket for her school papers.
Side view:
Evidence of my crappy binding on the inside, but hey it shows the tags Heather gave me for Christmas. Like I said she rocks!
Back view:
Side pockets for cups and snacks:
And most importantly, Kinley loves it! She wanted to try it on first thing this morning and wanted to show it off to daddy.
And some randomness thrown in. Kinley also loves the new sofa. Relaxing with Daddy watching some Cailou.

Hot off the Assembly Line

From the Bell sweat shop that is. My first successful embroidery on the new machine. Not totally perfect because I was too scared to do it directly on the main fabric. So I stitched it out then Heather sewed it on like a patch. You'll have to tune back in tomorrow to see the completed project. I'm very excited about it. In fact I just can't quit starring at it. But alas, it will be even cuter on my little one and short of shaking her awake, blinding her with the flash and commiting myself to hours of entertaining her in the middle of the night, it will just have to wait.

Finally some Kinley Love

I believe those last two posts were a record. Two whole posts with no pictures of Kinley. What was I thinking? Here's a few from the past couple of days
Just when I think we've passed the crazy hair days, she wakes up from a nap like this.
She is currently obsessed with her puzzles. It makes me happy because I can now shower in peace. Since she's now officially tall and coordinated enough to open all doors in the house I haven't had many showers without the door flying open and closed 15 million times while I try to hurry as fast as I can.
Kinley eating at our new kitchen table:
This is her spaghetti face.
And her spaghetti chair. If you look really closely you'll see Kinley's booster is still strapped onto an old chair instead of a new one. This is why she will continue to use that chair.

The Newest Addition

It's an embroidery machine! One that I apparently need more practice/better supplies for because that is one bunched up looking embroidery. Either way it's freaking exciting!

At least I'm thinking about sewing

That counts right?

The two magazines have lots of cute spring and summer patterns in there for Miss Kin. But before I can get busy sewing, we had to work on some sleep issues. She must have been embarrassed after my post the other day because she's napped like a champ every day since then. However she is under the misguided impression that Saturday nights are party times. She stayed up until 11:30 the last two. Crazy kid!!! I'm also trying to read up on potty training and am hoping to work on it in the next few weeks. Fun times at the Bell household!
I did finally make the skirt for the cutting table in my sewing area. It makes it seem a little more homey(less plasticy mess) in there to me.

Next on the list is Whitney's jewelry roll and a back pack for Kinley. I can't really remember if I talked about this on here yet or not. I know I've said repeatedly how lucky Miss Kin is to have Heather, but she just keeps out doing herself. So, I've loved the fabric every since I first saw it but had no idea what I could ever make with it. I think it will make a super cute backpack. We will see. I tried tracking down some supplies for it today. I can't decide purple or green piping. What do you think?

And a teaser...

Some of you already know about it but check back in tomorrow for my newest addiction.
