We've spent a lot of time at the ball park lately watching Drew play softball. Kinley loves to watch. I found a great deal on a glove and ball for Kinley the other day. It just so happened to be the day before the hitting and pushing at school incident. Needless to say, she did not get to test out the ball and glove immediately.
I really was at a loss on how to get Kinley to behave at school, so when I dropped her off the next day at school I told her she could play ball with Daddy if she didn't hit or push. I didn't really expect it to work but figured it couldn't hurt. As I walked in to pick her up, she came running to me squealing, "I play ball!!!" Sure enough, I asked her teacher, and she'd had a good day.
As promised, playing ball with daddy:
Still needs a little more practice.
Okay, that's better!

For the record, after talking with Kinley's teacher more it appears there is only one little boy in the class that Kinley has these struggles with. Apparently she doesn't give in to his bullying. :( I do not condone hitting and pushing even if someone else does it first, but it did make me feel a little bit better when I heard Kinley at least isn't the instigator. I thought those of you who believe Princess Kinley could never behave poorly might like the update. She's also doing better with listening to her teacher and not hitting and pushing back this week. I keep telling myself there is only two more weeks, there's only two more weeks. However I think there will always be that kid in every class. I just don't want Kinley to be that kid, so it's definitely a valuable lesson to learn.
